Mycothek (InMyco)
The InMyco project is a collaboration between the Materiability Research Group and Applied Biosciences and Process Engineering aims to develop innovative mycelium materials through interdisciplinary collaboration between biotechnology, material development, and design. By integrating these disciplines, new sustainable materials will be created from waste and by-products from agriculture, forestry, agribusiness, and process industries. These innovative materials will enable the creation of resource-efficient products for various sectors, including construction, packaging, textiles, and crafts. The goal is to establish a mycotheque that showcases the potential of mycelial materials produced from regional raw materials that would otherwise be discarded, offering new perspectives on future materials. Through the technical implementation of these materials in a practical context, their innovative application and potential for real-world impact will be demonstrated.
