Claudia Palcova
RESEARCHER IN RESIDENCY

Claudia Palcova joined the Materiability Research Group as a researcher in residency in March 2022. Her research explores the potential use of additive manufacturing in the production of temporary biofoam environments.
With interest in manipulation and reimagination of spaces and places, Claudia often integrates varied sensory stimuli to create unique experiences which challenge status quo. Having graduated from MA Information Experience Design at the Royal College of Art, Claudia continues to merge material research and spatial experimentations to nurture instinctive relationships with our environment and blur the boundaries between our bodies, minds and their surroundings.
Aiming to use minimal means to achieve maximal impact, Claudia treats air as a tool for manipulation, adaptation and disruption of physical structures. She learns from material science, biofabrication and additive manufacturing to implement non-invasive methods of expanding material properties in temporary spatial interventions.
