What is my profile and why do I need it?
Your profile page is like your business card. It reveals some personal information along with an image, your friends as well as the your latest network activity, like posts, comments, forum topics and replies. The published information is only visible to fellow members and requires to be logged in.
A profile image will enhance your appearance and make you more visible. Please add one in your profile section.
Why a members list?
The members list is the core of the network, displaying all active members.
From here each person’s profile page can be accessed. It can be sorted based on views, name, date, country, institute or alphabetically according to surnames. On top of showing a member’s profile pic, their name, affiliation, country etc. certain symbols highlight recent activities. ⚑ a new post/ topic/ reply has been posted by the respective person less than 31 days ago ★ a new member has joined the network less than 7 days ago ● the person is currently online ● the person has been online recently ● the person was online a while ago
How do I change my profile?
If you are a registered user, all your settings are stored in our database. To alter them, visit your profile panel; a link can usually be found on the right side of the page or click here. You can edit all information except for your username.
To increase your connections with fellow members, you can link your account to your other social media profiles, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Vimeo or Youtube. You only need to add your usernames or IDs. If you don’t know where to find your public profile urls, have a look at this link.
Notifications and Updates
You might receive occasional emails concerning new posts or other network-related news like Paper Calls, Job Openings, Conferences, Exhibitions, Competitions or Articles. If you do not wish to receive these emails, you can adjust your notification settings in your profile.
I cannot see my profile.
You might have added a dot or space to your username. You can check this in the URL your browser displays. If so, please send an email and your username will be adjusted.
Help! My account has been deactivated!
This might have several reasons. To reactivate your account please send an email.
I have enough and want to delete my account!
Just send an e-mail and your account and all your data will be deleted. Please send your request from the e-mail address you also used for signing up. It might take up to 24h until your account has been closed. A copy of your details might be retained, however it won’t be visible to other members any longer. You’ll receive a confirmation once your request has been processed.
