    What are categories?
    All posts in the materiability research network are split into three major categories: projects, materials, and tutorials.

    • - The projects category features work that employ advanced materials.
    • - The materials category displays detailed information on selected materials.
    • - The tutorials category provides step-by-step instructions of specific processes.

    What are tags?
    All posts are tagged in eight main categories:

    • 1. material class (ceramic, metal, organic, polymer, semiconductor, textile)
    • 2. creative discipline (architecture, art, design, engineering, science)
    • 3. scale (small, medium, large, x-large)
    • 4. phenomenological behaviour (adhesion-changing, colour-changing, electricity-generating, energy-exchanging, light-emitting, matter-exchanging, shape-changing, sound-creating, static)
    • 5. physical property (flexible, fluid, soft, rigid)
    • 6. optical property (opaque, translucent, transparent)
    • 7. status (realized, conceptual, information)
    • 8. institute (ETH, IAAC, RMIT, ZHdK,…)

    Tags are displayed below the sharing buttons in the top-right corner of each post. Once a specific tag has been selected all posts tagged the same are displayed. The range can be further refined by searching posts with any or all of the consecutively selected tags.
